Monday, Feb 25th Try-outs begin.
Meet at the tennis courts from 2:15 - 4:15.
Be ready with your racket, appropriate shoes and dress warm in layers.
Tennis shoes, court shoes or cross trainers are best. Running shoes don’t offer the lateral stability you need for tennis movement and can lead to turned ankles.
If it rains or is too cold you will be notified by text to meet in the Auxillary Gym from 2:00-3:30pm.
Team information and communication will be available all season long on this www.sscathletics.org website.
The List of players who make the team will be posted on this bulletin board on
Wed Feb 27 by 9:00 PM.
Once the roster is set: 1st practice Varsity will be 2:15 - 4:00
2nd practice JV will be from 3:45 - 5:30. (15 min crossover for team fitness)
To be eligible to try out you must make sure you are signed up ONLINE thru the athletic website: https://psd401.net/ghh/athletics/
and have a current physical on file. Call the athletic office if you have questions. If you are not signed up online you are not allowed to try out. There are no exceptions.
To get ready for try-outs and the season ahead I encourage you to get out and hit some balls! If the weather permits get out to the courts with a friend. If the weather does not cooperate...here are some indoor opportunities:
1. PLU Women’s Tennis Team is offering a girls high school clinic at Sprinker Tennis Center Saturday Feb 23rd from 2:30 - 4:30 $20.00. To sign up: CONTACT CHERI CAMPBELL AT CAMPBECM@PLU.EDU
2. Galbraith Tennis Center also offers weekly high school workouts. Call for info 253 533-1145
3. Canterwood high school players camp Monday - Thursday (next week) 4:00 - 6:00 PM.
Non member price $100.00 for the 8 hours.
