Baseball Facilities

We are fortunate to have some really nice facilities to play on in this league.  Below you will find directions to them and more importantly rules about what types of footwear that are permitted.  Please review we all want to keep our facilities nice for years to come.

Directions

School has two all Grass and Dirt Baseball Fields Varsity field (Waits Field) is on the south west corner of campus and the JV field is just North with an all dirt Infield.  Metal spikes are permitted on both.

Directions

Cougar Ballpark is the only baseball field on the campus of CKHS.  Typically used for Varsity games. We will usually play our JV games at Kitsap County Fairgrounds.

Cougar Ballpark is an all turf field.  Molded and turf shoes are allowed however NO Spikes.  Water only on the playing surface and no nuts in a shell are allowed on the premise this includes spectators.

Lobe #1 This is the bigger of the two baseball fields at this location is a natural grass and dirt field with carpeted dugouts.  Metal Spikes are permitted on the field. No Sunflower Seeds are to be spit in the dugouts.

Lobe #2

This is the smaller of the two baseball fields it is all turf.  NO Metal Spikes, No seeds, No gum only water on the field.

Sehmel Homestead Park is a all turf Infield with a grass outfield.  No Metal Spikes are allowed and No Seeds on the field. Gig Harbor and Peninsula play most of their Varsity games on this field.

There is only one baseball field on campus.  Typically the JV will play home games on campus with the Varsity playing games and Sehmel Homestead Park.  Field is grass and dirt.  Metal spikes are permitted on this field.  However no Sunflower Seeds.

North Thurston High School adjoins with Chinook Middle School on their shared Campus there are two baseball fields. The one closest to the High School is all dirt and grass, which is where the Varsity will typically play home games and the one closer to the middle school is all dirt infield with grass outfield is where the JV will play.  Metal Spikes are allowed on both.

This none school affiliated field is used by just about any and every school in the south sound region. There is one baseball field on the facility.  It has an all turf infield (including the mound) and a grass outfield.  No Metal Spikes are to be worn and no sunflower seeds are permitted.

Peninsula High School has just the one baseball field on campus and typically will play all JV home games here. Where the Varsity will play their home games at Sehmel Homestead Park.  The Field at PHS is Dirt and Grass.  Metal Spikes are permitted however no Sunflower Seeds.

There are two baseball fields on campus. The west most field (closest to the school) is where the varsity will play home games.  It has turf for the mound and home plate area otherwise grass and dirt field.  For this reason the pitchers and Catchers are to wear molded or turf shoes.  Other players are permitted to wear metal spikes.  The JV field is all dirt infield with grass outfield players may wear spikes on this field however no Sunflower Seeds on either field.

This Season 2023. The 2nd field on campus (JV Field) is out of order do to construction going on with remodel of the High School.  JV games will be played at the RAC.  The Varsity will play on campus, this field is all grass and dirt.  Metal Spikes are permitted, However no Sunflower Seeds.

There is only one Baseball field on the campus of Yelm High School.  It is typically used for Varsity games. We will usually play our JV games at Yelm Middle School.  The High school field is all turf.  No Metal Spikes, No Gum, No Seeds, Water Only.

Yelm Middle school is a short drive from the High School and this facility is where JV games are typically played.  Field is Dirt and Grass.  Metal spikes are ok to be worn on this field.
